All Star Cheer

There are many cheer team choices within the BSCD program. Members have the option of joining a traveling or non-traveling competition team or instructional classes.

Full Year Teams

Try outs for our Full Year Travel teams are the last weekend in May and practices begin immediately. Team commitment is from June 1st until May 31st.

Traveling teams practice approximately 6 hours a week with their teams and an additional hour of individual tumbling. These teams compete in approximately 10-12 local and National competitions throughout the season. Included in the competitions are approximately 5 National Competitions, 6-8 local competitions and 1 travel competition. Practices and competitions are mandatory.

Competitions are held in arenas such as the DCU Center in Worcester, the Mass Mutual Center in Springfield, the CT Convention Center in Hartford, the Dunkin Donuts Center in Providence as well as a few local high schools and colleges. Travel competitions change year to year and are chosen to best serve the teams attending them. Some past locations have been Orlando, Atlantic City, Dallas, Ocean City and Niagara Falls. High energy, professional and challenging competitions add to the total cheer experience, making All Star Cheerleading the exciting sport it is.

Half-Year Teams

Registration for our half year teams are typically held in November or December. These teams invite local recreational cheerleaders to join after their football season has ended. Half year teams compete only locally in approximately 3 – 4 competitions.

Classes

Classes are offered in tumbling, stretch, cheer and dance.  Sessions run all year between June - May and are typically 8 weeks in length.  Rolling registration continues all year.  There are no competitions required, although some classes are invited to perform at the “End of the Year Show”.

Classes are divided based on the following criteria:

Int /Level 2-3 = Has back handspring with a LIGHT spot only.
Adv/Level 3-5 = Has MASTERED multiple ROBHS and has or working on a tuck/layout/full
